Perhaps Microsoft has released an update for using input methods on Linux, which is affecting Cody. Could you please check this for me? Specifically, when typing the first character in the chat bar using an input method other than English, it doesn’t register as shown in the video. This issue can be resolved by adding a space before typing or switching back to the English input method.
Hey @langbach364 I suspect this has nothing to do with Cody. This seems to be a configuration setting in Windows, even an update in Windows should not affect Linux (WSL).
I’ve been using Windows 11 with WSL, and I code in Linux 95% of the time, and have no problems when something changes in Windows, except for input methods like keyboard language layout, etc.
You may also need to update your keyboard drivers.
Have you checked other input methods besides English? Because in English I don’t encounter any obstacles, but when switching to the Vietnamese input method (bamboo) fcitx5, it causes errors as shown in the video. Previously, I sent feedback to VSCode to update the Wayland Protocol (text input for Linux), and they might have updated it. However, after that, Cody started experiencing issues as shown in the video.
After a period of checking, it seems that several VSCode extensions are also experiencing errors. I think this issue stems from VSCode itself. Perhaps I should send a request to them. Sorry for the trouble, and I wish you a lucky day
“maybe this is an electron problem about the percussion, sorry to bother”, But if possible, please let me know if your extension interferes with the method, input or anything related, so that I can find the cause of the error so that the electron side can assist.
