Hello,
I was surprised to see that chats history in VS code are not saved into VS code cloud and that each VS code instance (installed on many PC but same account VS code) save chat history on the device itself. That’s impractical if you work on one project from multiple devices but always same account VS and Cody. My question is: Why? Do we have any work-around?
Thank you
Regards
Paul
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no such feature and no workaround as of yet. That being said, the Devs are aware that this is a requested feature, so I will check with them to see if it might be coming at some stage soon

Have you received any feedback from the Cody team? I would like to emphasize the importance of having a synchronized chat history across devices. As a professional working on the same project from multiple computers using the same VS Code and Cody account, the current situation represents a significant limitation to my workflow.
I understand this functionality is being considered, but I would like to suggest prioritizing its implementation. Alternatively, an interim solution could be the ability to export and import conversation histories, which would allow us to maintain continuity in our interactions with Cody regardless of the device being used.
This improvement would not only optimize the user experience but also enhance Cody’s utility as a development assistant in modern and flexible work environments.
Thank you for checking on this for us, Kynlo. I appreciate your help in communicating these concerns to the development team.
Kind regards, Tavo
