How about keeping both Amp and Cody

I’ve been using Cody for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. When Amp came out I tried it as well and found it to be a real step change, It’s fantastic. But as others have said, it’s working out incredibly expensive and I just can’t afford to use it to the same extent as I used Cody. I will use it, but sparingly and for more complex tasks.

I’ve tried to find other coding assistants, but none I’ve tried match are even close to Cody.

Would you guys consider 2 tier products - amp for complex tasks and Cody for less complex. I’d be more than happy to pay a monthly fee and to provide my own API key for Anthropic or Open AI etc etc. I’d even be happy to pay a much higher fee than the current cost of pro.

Maybe it’s the case that Cody was costing too much, but it has been fantastic.

My fear is that I can’t afford to use Amp in the same way I used Cody and I won’t find anything else as good as Cody. It’s a shame to have a product so fantastic and not to be able to use it.

That’s my two cents worth. My world won’t be quite a nice after the 23rd July and that’s a real pity.

All the best

Hey @warrenhharding thanks for reaching out.

We’re firmly committed to Amp as our path forward. It will still be supported for Enterprise customers but we won’t be supporting any other plans (free, pro, etc.) after July 23rd.

There are forks of Cody out there that support BYOK, you can find them on GitHub.

Thanks for the kind words!

It sounds like Warren is asking about similar features as I am missing. I want an easy toggle into “dumb mode” to ask “how do I do that thing I forgot again”, which uses one of the cheaper / faster models rather than everything being run through expensive / slow thinking models.
