VS Code Search Extension Unable to Auth

Hi,

I am completely lost on how to get VS Code auth working for Search by Sourcegraph.
I was able to do it on my previous laptop, but haven’t been able to get it working now for 2 weeks.

I am prompted in vs code to “Get Token” > https://sourcegraph.domain.com/user/settings/ > I generate a token > ???

Potentially related, in the changelog I see 2.2.17 " Remove the URL and Access Token settings because authentication is managed in the extension now. #63559 " (aside: all the links to the repo seem to not work (private repo?) across changelog and all other docs)

Looks like there is a workaround that I just found that’s 7 months old

This did work for me, but took a while to find via Google.

Is every person installing VS Code Extension expected to go through this flow? If so, would recommend at least noting it on the settings get tokens page.
